Installation Support Center:
Establishing E-mail and Web Hosting Services with MegaPath, Inc.

You will be contacted within five to seven days from the receipt of your welcome letter to discuss establishing e-mail and web hosting services.

1. The first step in the process is to transfer an existing domain that you have or to register a new domain (MegaPath does not provide the use of @dsl.net or @megapath.com to our customers).
• MegaPath can directly assist in the transfer of domains from Verisign/Network Solutions or Register.com. If your domain name is registered through a different registrar, it is your responsibility to initiate the transfer of the domain to MegaPath. We can not provide e-mail and/or web hosting without this.
• If you do not currently have a domain, follow the simple steps outlined below to select a domain name.
  • Go to www.betterwhois.com to determine if the domain that you wish to have is available. (For an example, please click here.)
  • Enter into the field the domain of your choosing.
  • Hit Search.
  • Wait for the response.
  • If the response states that the domain is currently available, you need to provide that information to MegaPath immediately. You can do this by calling our Customer Support Center at 1-800-455-5546.
  • There are times when you must select multiple domains before coming upon one that is available.
     
2. We will provision the email addresses and passwords that you have provided to us once the transfer of the domain is completed. Instructions for configuring the e-mail accounts can be found at our E-mail Support Center.
    
3. If you have selected a Web Hosting Package, we will provision space on our servers for your web site. You will receive an email will information on uploading your web site and the IP address that you will need to provide MegaPath when you are ready to activate your website.
    
4. Activation is the final step in the process. Services take approximately 24 hours to activate and we begin the process when you inform us that you are ready. If you are hosting your own e-mail and/or web hosting servers you must provide MegaPath with the IPs assigned to those servers for activation. This process also takes 24 hours.
